FAQs

Do you teach adults as well as children?
Yes — I offer cello lessons for all ages and abilities.

How long does it take to learn the cello?
It's different for everyone - it also depends on how much you practise and what you want to achieve. With regular lessons and practice, most beginners notice real progress within the first few months.

Can I have lessons and not do exams?

Of course - I understand that sometimes we just want to play for fun and don't want the pressure of exams. I cater my lessons to whatever you need!

Where do lessons take place?
Lessons are held in Stockport, Greater Manchester, or online.

I'm unsure if I definitely want to start lessons but would like to try it out first, can I book a trial lesson?
Yes — you’re very welcome to arrange a trial lesson via this site to see how it feels before committing. You can borrow one of my cellos for the first lesson if you don't have an instrument to see if you like it.

Can I make progress with online lessons?
In my experience, yes! Online cello lessons can be just as rewarding and useful as in-person sessions. Many of my students enjoy the flexibility of learning from home and are surprised by how effectively guidance can work remotely.

How much do cello lessons cost?
Lessons are £18 per 30 minutes

Do I need my own cello to start?
Not necessarily — I can advise on instrument hire for beginners.
